Carbon Sheets

Instant Metals specializes in flat-rolled carbon products, from individual pieces to your largest orders. Our carbon sheets range from 7 GA to 28 GA and come in widths from 36 to 60. Our galvanized sheets are steel coated with a thin layer of zinc to provide corrosion resistance in underbody auto parts, appliances, metal buildings, or storage tanks and other applications. Sheet steel normally uses cold rolled but can use hot rolled as a base prior to the galvanizing stage. Instant Metals can find virtually any type of metal product you need and get it fast. Instant Metals prides itself in providing instant solutions to your metal requirements and tailoring each order to your carbon sheet needs, large or small. No matter the size of your order, Instant Metals strives to satisfy your metal requirements with quality metal products. Whether you need a specific tube for your tractor or a truckload of carbon sheets, Instant Metals provides the flexibility to find the right solution, and the right timing, for you.

Instant Metals' commitment to customer service means delivery solutions tailored to your convenience. In hot-rolling, a coil of steel rolled on a hot-strip mill and can be sold in this form to customers or further processed into other finished products. Strips, on the other hand, are thin, flat steel that resembling hot-rolled sheet, but are normally narrower (up to 12 inches wide) and produced to more closely controlled thicknesses. Strip also may be cut from steel sheet by a slitting machine. Hot Rolled P&O sheet is produced by rolling the steel to the final gauge at an elevated temperature. The coil is then pickled to remove mill scale and oxides, edge trimmed, cropped back to ordered thickness, and temper rolled as required. The oils applied to the coil are intended to retard rusting and reduce friction scratching in transit.

The oil coating is not intended to serve as a lubricant for subsequent fabrication. It is suitable for stamping and moderate forming applications and can be painted after proper cleaning. Our stainless steel grades have enhanced pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. This is due the further additions of chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen to these grades. Put our metal expertise to work in finding the best metal solution for your precise needs.
